Privacy.

Trove runs entirely on your phone. Your transactions, balances, and goals live in your device's local storage and never leave it. We have no server, no account system, no analytics. There is no copy of your data anywhere except in your hand.

Q · What does Trove collect from you?
Nothing.

No backend, no database we control, no record of you or your finances. Everything you enter — imported transactions, monthly ceiling, cash on hand, savings, goals, category adjustments — is written to your device's local storage and stays there.

Where your data lives

Inside the app, under a single storage key: trove_v1. You can export this data at any time as JSON or CSV from Settings. You can clear it permanently from Settings, or by uninstalling Trove.

Because your data is local-only, we cannot recover it if you clear it or uninstall the app. If you want a backup, export one.

CSV imports

Trove reads CSV files you choose to import from your bank, card issuer, or another finance app. These files are parsed in the browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Trove does not connect to your bank. There are no logins, no Plaid, no aggregator API. You are always the one moving data in or out.

Permissions

Trove does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or any other sensitive permission.

Third parties

Trove uses no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising networks, no trackers, no fingerprinting, and no third-party services that touch your data.

The app loads typography from Google Fonts. Google may log a request from your IP when fonts are fetched, but receives no information about your finances. Fonts are cached locally after the first load, so this typically happens once per device.

The Android version is distributed through Google Play and runs as a Trusted Web Activity. Google Play's own data practices apply to install and updates.

Children

Trove is not directed to children under 13. The product is built for adults managing their own finances.

Your rights

Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf. Every right is exercised inside the app:

Changes

If we change how Trove handles data — for example, if we add an optional sync feature in a future version — this page will be updated and the date above will change. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
